About Pedersen Bicycle Services

Built on bikes. Rooted in community.

Pedersen Bicycle Services started with a simple belief: bikes should be approachable, reliable, and welcoming for everyone — not just seasoned cyclists or people who already “know their way around” a bike shop.

My name is Justin Pedersen. I’m a husband, a father of two, and the person behind Pedersen Bicycle Services. I moved to the Ballard area in 2016 after spending years in the mountains of Utah, where cycling became a big part of my life. Over the years, I’ve been involved in many forms of cycling — from casual riding and commuting to endurance racing, including completing an Ironman. Through all of it, bikes have been a constant: a way to stay active, clear my head, and connect with the people around me.

In 2025, I officially started Pedersen Bicycle Services out of our basement with a handful of tools, a growing pile of parts, and a desire to help people keep their bikes running. What began as a part-time project quickly grew through word of mouth and trust. I’ve been fortunate to serve neighbors, families, and riders who were simply looking for honest, straightforward service without pressure or upselling.

At the heart of this business is a love for what bikes make possible in everyday life. Bikes are transportation, fitness, freedom, and connection. They get kids to school, adults to work, families outside, and communities moving. I believe everyone deserves access to a bike that works well — regardless of experience level — and to feel comfortable asking questions along the way.

Pedersen Bicycle Services exists to serve all riders. Whether you’re brand new to cycling, getting back on a bike after years away, commuting daily, riding with your kids, or navigating the world of e-bikes, you’re welcome here. I work to meet people where they are, explain what their bike needs in plain language, and respect their time, budget, and goals.

What sets my service apart is a service-first mindset. I focus on repairs, maintenance, and problem-solving — not selling things you don’t need. I know life is busy and can be difficult to get to the bike shop.  I'm happy to come pick up and drop off bikes to help mitigate the friction of getting bikes to the shop.  Also, depending up on the work requested, I can service at your location!  Just let me know what is easiest for you.

Above all, Pedersen Bicycle Services is about community. I’m proud to serve the Ballard area and to be part of a cycling culture that values respect, inclusion, and shared experience over ego or exclusivity. Every bike has a story, and every rider deserves to feel confident and supported.

If you’re unsure what your bike needs, curious about maintenance, or just want a trustworthy place to start, I’d love to help. No pressure. No judgment. Just honest bicycle service.
